Subject Info

The Common Blue Butterfly occurs throughout the British Isles and most of Europe, and is one of the most common and widespread of the 'Blue' butterflies. In Britain it favours open grassy meadows but can often be seen in deciduous woodlands. Larva feeds on various clovers and vetches.

Photographed with a hand-held Nikkormat Ftn camera with 50mm Nikkor lens and extension tube, twin manual flash on home-made bracket, at 1/125th sec and f16, on Kodachrome 25 film processed normally. No filters used.
