Subject Info

The Marbled White is a common butterfly in rough grassland habitats in southern Britain and most of central Europe. Adults can be seen in the middle summer. Larva feeds on various grasses.

Photographed with a hand-held Nikkormat Ftn camera with 50mm Nikkor lens and extension tube, lit by twin manual flash on home-made bracket, at 1/125th sec and f16, on Kodachrome 25 film processed normally. No filters used.
